Uluru | Ayers Rock Shopping
The shopping in and around Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Yulara is pretty thin, with a much greater range and more discounts on offer at Alice Springs or even Darwin. However, souvenirs are available at the Cultural Center or at several shops in Yulara. They range from standard shirts, caps and knick-knacks to authentic (and, accordingly, expensive) Anangu art. In fact, the indigenous paintings, carvings, weapons, musical instruments and other aboriginal cultural products are among the most sort-after and worthwhile items to shop for, even if they are a little on the expensive side.
Food, drinks and photographic equipment are available in Yulara.
There is a shopping centre which has a supermarket (with some produce and baked goods), take-away restaurants, gift shops, newsagents, an ANZ bank and ATM, and a post office. A photo developing service is available, as are cameras and camera equipment. There is also a petrol station nearby. The is also a hairdressers that does beauty treatments as well.
